Bridges is pleased to announce that together with our AFCO co-host, 34 sponsors, 205 golfers, and 20 volunteers we raised $45,000 to support The Wounded Warrior Project. Hurricane Dorian thankfully blew out to sea, and it was a beautiful day for the 13th annual BRIDGES-AFCO Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 6th at The Woodlands/Diamond Ridge Golf Courses. This was a record-breaking year for the tournament in fundraising, which has now helped Bridges donate more than $300,000 to WWP over the past ten years.
Bridges CEO Chuck Faughnan, III said, “We are thrilled to see our community gather together to support WWP each year. WWP makes a lasting, positive impact by providing critical services to wounded veterans and their families. Each year we schedule our tournament near 9/11 to commemorate the heroic efforts of our military and emergency response teams.” The tournament features a WWP speaker, and this year Dan Miller brought tears to the eyes of many in the group with the story of his personal journey from brokenness to life-saving care from WWP.
The tournament is a day for connection over competition, industry collaboration, laughs, lunch, and community giving. Bridges thanks all in this caring community for their support in making this a fun and impactful event. “This event brings Bridges’ core values to life – integrity, respect, courage, and commitment.”
